The one with the cold penguin situation and the last snowmobile ride

This morning was freezing.

Brekkie was epic yet again, I seriously think one of the best things about being on holiday is having an insane breakfast every day. Cereal is my favourite food ever but any other breakfast food comes a close second.

I was super tired when I woke up so I sat on the couch for a good two hours before motivating myself to do some yoga.

I did this video:

For some reason I found it really hard; all the twists were brutal (in an awesome way) and I was shaking a lot. I like that though- when I was doing my yoga course on Salt Spring Island I heard a teacher say not to become “masters of mediocrity” and I always think about that now. It’s easy to get too comfortable doing poses and of course it’s so important to not push ourselves harder than we should, so sometimes I find myself forgetting to strive for a higher level of a pose. I am also the least flexible person ever (running doesn’t help) and certain poses, for example seated forward bend, are a huge challenge for me.
I often find that when I tell people I do yoga, they say that they could never do that cos they’re not flexible or something along those lines. It always makes me laugh because if they saw me butchering some of the poses they would definitely not think of me as flexible.
I do the free yoga class at lululemon once a week and I usually bring a friend with me. Nine times out of ten my friend will be more flexible and look more professional doing the poses than I do. When I first started doing yoga this bugged me but as time passed I’ve realised that how a pose “should look” ideally, really isn’t the point of yoga. I think that as long as you’re doing what feels good for you and what challenges you but doesn’t destroy you, reaching for your destination and doing your best in the journey, that’s more important.
Yoga has also become many other things for me too; it’s a spiritual practice for me as well as a time to nurture my body and think about all the things in my life I am grateful for. Physically I also love the feeling of yoga, it always feels sooo good especially after running. And I love the burn!
Wild thing is one of my favourite poses because it feels so good and I think it looks really beautiful and it just sounds awesome too 🙂 I was super tired by the time of this photo so that is a very forced smile you see:

After yoga I gapped it outside to go for one last snowmobile ride before going to Vancouver. We ripped all over the lake and I was a little frozen when I got home but it was worth it.

Spending a month in japan eight ears ago makes me compulsively make the peace sign in 96% of my photos. I am cool.

Lego snowmobile:

I was super hungry by the time we got back so I had the below apple (yeah I am wildly creative with the arrangement I know 😉 ) and a million chocolate mint things which was weird cos usually I hate the combo of chocolate and mint.

If I’m motivated I might do a tiny strength sesh later tonight. We shall see though, being on holiday is tough work.
