My bestie did come to Sydney airport, just to spend two hours with me before my flight to NZ!
That is just the kind of person she is.
When I first went to Sydney I didn’t know a single person there. I moved there to do my masters and while I was super excited about the course, I was definitely sad (to say the least) about leaving my lovely family and friends in NZ.
I had one week when I got there before my course started, in which time I wanted to find both a job and a place to live. I was an eensy bit stressed 😉 I got a horrible flu during that week because I was running around trying to figure out the city, getting lost, looking at places to live, applying for jobs, and doing my uni orientation. The lecturer who did my orientation actually ended up giving me a flu tablet during the orientation, that’s how sick and yucky I was. Good times.
It was all sooooo worth it though- a day before my course started I moved in to my new place, and that same day I got a call from a restaurant I’d applied to waitress at saying I had the job.
The job that is in the same restaurant where Sally is a pastry chef. We walked home together the first day and the rest is history 😉 She is one of those people who is so kind, so hilarious, and so talented (see below), and such a good friend. I am so lucky to have her in my life.
She made the below two delicacies, wow I nailed it making friends with a pastry chef 😉
When I go back to Sydney I will be living with her, get ready to hear some ridiculous stories of us exploring the city and being crazy together 🙂
How did you meet your bestie?
