The one with porridge excitement and random road trip photos

When I laid eyes on the below gorgeousness I immediately exclaimed “OH its so beautiful!! I have to take a photo!!! “.

Isn’t that normal? πŸ™‚

The waiter laughed and probably thought I was a little crazy and was like “yeah I really like porridge too…”. LOL.

Porridge makes me happy ok?

So here are a bunch of random photos from the rest of our road trip. FYI, spending too much time in the sun and going for long beach runs can give you heatstroke. More on this tomorrow πŸ˜‰

Obligatory random yoga pose in beautiful location photo. Felt really good after a few hours in the car.

Poem that I copied down the other day from a huge sidewalk mural because I thought it was beautiful.

Yes my handwriting is atrocious, it says: You are there sending me messages across the narrow sea. With you I think of safety and of courage in a world that often has little of either. I am sitting here looking down into the water watching the unknown pass beneath me. I try to explain longing to oysters who sit in the bay but they sigh and shut their homes as I approach. I stand here looking across the water and back through time drawing it close to me as I unravel within your words. And to answer your question, you do not spell love… you feel it.

And yes that is my pony stickerbook that I carry with me at all times beneath it.

Hello beautiful beach where I grew up going right from when I was baby Jessie. You are pretty easy on the eyes.

Also easy on the eyes, these gorgeous toilets:

And these surfboard showers. NZ is way too cool for school.

The pink bus that I now want to live in. Curtis, I think this is perfect for our future roadtrip around Canada πŸ™‚

Delicious home cooked food, sis you are a genius with the stir fry. You can see a little bit of the sea in the background.

Dessert: this sight makes me so happy. Lolly bags $1.00, don’t mind if I do.

Fave dessert? I know lollies are not really dessert but I will never complain about ending a meal (or starting one) with lollies.

Have you ever had heatstroke?Β

  1. Porridge is one of my favorites, too. I don’t think I could choose a favorite dessert…maybe peach cobbler? Or cookies? Or chocolate mousse?

It sounds like you’ve had a great (and beautiful) road trip! Enjoy the weekend.

The porridge looks amazing. Definitely photo worthy. The poem is beautiful. I’m a poetry lover though. Favorite dessert…I have to narrow it down? I couldn’t possibly. But I dearly love gummies. And Hot Tamales. And Mike N Ike’s. Sigh. I have a problem. But admitting it is the first step.
Yes, I’ve had heatstroke when I was out running in 90* heat and no water. Not a great memory except for the kind soul who helped me out.

And yes, I would agree it is quite beautiful in NZ. Thanks for the lovely taste.

    • I love poetry too! Now if only I could write it haha. Gummie lollies? I have no idea what the other two things are! Enlighten me? πŸ™‚ Oh wow that sounds horrible, heatstroke is no joke :/
Haha I’m glad you like it, I am a tad biased but kinda think NZ is pretty great πŸ™‚

Sad day…you don’t know Hot Tamales or Mike N Ike’s? I thought they were the world over. Hot Tamales are Cinnamon chewy candies. Not as chewy as gummies. But spicy because they are cinnamon. Mike N Ike’s are shaped just like Hot Tamales, like a cylinder, but fruit flavored rather than cinnamon. They are both delicious.

      • Umm all those things sound amazing, I am full on jealous now haha.

I would absolutely traverse entire countries in that van with you love! haha
