Eating brekkie on a sun lounger on the balcony is a pretty sweet way to start the day.
For the first time in quite a while I didn’t wake up and start my day by immediately faceplanting onto my yoga mat for a morning practice. Wild, I know. I planned to do a yoga class with a friend later in the day so I wanted to save all my yoga enthusiasm for this; it is pretty much a huge treat for me to do a legit studio class and I have been looking forward to it for a few days. #yoganerd, you know you are thinking it 😉
Instead I had my brekkie on the balcony, and got super productive trying to access my inner housewife and do laundry and cleaning and arranging my meals for the day so when I get back from yoga I could just focus on writing my essay before going to work. I also painted my nails because heaven forbid I do a yoga class and have to look at chipped nails the whole way through. That would definitely stress me right out. My favourite blue nail polish did the trick.
I saw this advertisement on the way to yoga, and as a NZer I felt a personal affinity for whoever decided to make a movie about sheep. I am definitely going to see this.
The yoga studio was GORGEOUS. It is also has a gym and pilates classes and multiple treadmills all over the place.
And the most beautiful changing rooms I ever saw in my life. I was super excited by the iron in the changing room (how considerate is that?!) and in the photo you can see my friend laughing at me because of how loud I squealed in excitement.
The class itself was lovely. It was Hatha yoga with my friend’s fave teacher who she raves about, and is pretty much the sweetest little lady ever. She taught a great class which had a lot of hip opening in it, ideal for me because my hips are constantly sore from waitressing/running. Check out her beautiful post here about Surrendering to Silence.
I didn’t want to replicate the below pose in the photo because I didn’t want to intimidate anyone. Okay I am completely lying, I don’t think my leg is ever going to get into that position unless Professor Lockhart removes all the bones in my body first (if you don’t know what I am talking about, you need to go read Harry Potter right now. Seriously, your life will be enriched in a big way).
I refueled with salmon and frozen veg when I got home. The salmon (from work) made me feel fancy which was balanced out by the frozen veg being much more in line with my usual style of cooking.
Hope everyone is having an awesome day!
What is something fun you had to eat today?
Do you like pilates? – I will never say no to any class cos I love the class environment, but I am way too much of a yoga addict to get in line with pilates in the same way. Too much repetitive motion for me personally, it’s a great workout though!
Fave nail polish colour? – I am obsessed with blue right now, it brings me back to my teenage years.
Have you read Harry Potter? -Please say yes, this is a defining moment in any friendship. I am kidding, mostly 😉
