Number one: running again. What is it about running that just feels so so good and simultaneously burns and is physically incredibly uncomfortable? I don’t really understand it but I am not going to question it, I am just happy to be doing it again. Even though it makes my forward fold look even more ridiculous than normal.
Number two: Running in Sydney is pretty wonderful. There is always something new to see and the weather is actually perfect right now, a little cooler than it was in the height of summer, just right for running.
Number three: I have been loving fruit this week. I am not always in the mood for fruit even though I know it is good for me, but this week I have been eating more of it and it has been sweet (wow I am so witty 😉 ).
Number four: These muesli bars (you guys in America would probably call them granola bars, every time I say muesli bar to Curtis he looks at me like I’m an alien 😉 ). I finally bought some to help with my “I’m ravenous from waitressing and not eating anything for four hours” issue and these have made a big difference. Plus they were super reasonably priced and for some reason getting the crunchy variety had way less fat than the non crunchy variety? And more fiber! Sold.
Number Five: Completing the week of yoga with Sarah Beth.
It was nice to try out the week long series, I liked how Sarah Beth did a lot of different poses in the videos and made them a little more intense in the last few days too. I don’t know if it was just really hot when I did the Saturday session but it had me sweating really fast! I very much enjoy her practical teaching style, and I really think if you want to get in to a bit of a routine of yoga these would be great.
Now I am excited to get on with a little more spontaneity with my yoga and do my own thing and maybe try some other Youtube classes too. Michele from PaleoRunningMomma did an amazing post recently on a home practice guide of classes and I am pretty excited to try out a bunch of those too.
And this is what my post-yoga inane-happiness smile looks like. I am always ridiculously blissed out after yoga practice, it is quite different from running where I am usually slightly wound up and want to do a thousand things at once.
What are some of your Friday Favourites?
Favourite fruit? – I think for me it is bananas or mangos.
How do you feel after a run? And how do you feel after yoga? – I feel usually either hyped up after a run or sometimes (not that often luckily), really exhausted. After yoga I usually feel reeeeally calm, and very at peace. Sometimes a little sleepy 😉
