The one with the bestie reunion 3.0

Bestie and myself have once again been reunited. It was a special day folks. I am going to keep this short and sweet because I woke up in the 4am hour to get to the airport for our running screaming crying moment (which I actually spaced out hard for and didn’t realise that Sally had come up behind me… fail), and I am pretty sure that crawling out of bed at that hour and blowing up balloons immediately didn’t do anything good for myย brain power.

It was worth it though:ย image

First stop after a little unpacking and brekkie was Sally’s new university: Le Cordon Bleu. I am definitely winning in this friendship- her chef course is going to require a whole lot of taste testing on my part and I am ready to step up to the plate.

Furthermore, I have officially commissioned her to be in charge of my future wedding cake. If she achieves something like the below beauty that was just hanging out in the student centre, ย she gets to keep being my friend. Lucky girl ๐Ÿ˜‰

After that we did the only appropriate thing when back in Australia: straight to the beach. A picnic and a little sunbathing before we got hit by a huge thunderstorm and subsequently hit out cardio goalsย of the day sprinting back to the bus shelter. And yes we are wearing matching shorts, that is how we roll.

The activity highlight of the day: a new yoga class. We started a two week free trial with an amazing studio in Sydney and I really really loved the hatha class we tried out. They also teach vinyasa and ashtanga there which is a big plus for me as I love both those styles and find ashtanga a little more difficult to find classes in for some reason.

After yoga we went straight to an Italian restaurant we have been wanting to try out for a while. I was pretty much ready to eat my own arm in this photo. Please take a second to avert your eyes from my tired spacey gaze and admire what you can see of my minion shirt that bestie got for me: I am very much in love with it. Don’t worry, there will be lot of pics showcasing it much better as I intend to wear it for at least the next 16 days in a row.

We had a vegetarian pizza (although we found two pieces of sausage in it?!- lucky we are not strict vegetarians, and waitressing has put me off kicking up a fuss about stuff like that) and the pesto pasta and it was pretty good but not spectacular. Living in Italy for six months may have biased me a little and made me a wee bit fussy about my Italian food.

It’s so lovely to have my bestie back and you can expect to see a lot of photos of our everyday randomness again ๐Ÿ™‚

What was the highlight of your day?ย

Fave Italian food? – I love pasta alla gorgonzola (blue cheese) but I know many people find that gross…

Married people- Tell me about your wedding cake!ย What sort of cake/frosting was it? The one above looked so SO good.

  2. My wedding cake… um, that was so long ago I have forgotten! That sounds bad, but it’s true ๐Ÿ™‚
Favorite Italian food is hard to decide – cheese ravioli or fettuccine Alfredo I think. The more cheese the better.
That is awesome your friend is back again. It was probably a bit lonely there!

    • That’s awesome that it’s been that long! How many years? ๐Ÿ™‚ oh yes definitely, the more cheese the better for sure! Yeah it definitely was a bit lonely, esp with my bf in Canada and my family in nz too! And as a student just staring at my essays all day doesn’t help- when I’m excited to go to work I know I’ve been feeling lonely haha. I’m glad she’s back! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. We didn’t have just one wedding cake, we had a cake room. Well, it was a cake and sweet room. We have about 20 different cake and a whole pick n’ mix thing. It was the highlight for our guests.
