Today I was craving a good beastie run but the weather decided that it was not going to happen with torrential rain all day. So much respect to people who run in the rain, but for me almost every time I run in the rain I get a horrible flu afterwards (seriously immune system, where are you?) and I already feel like I am on the verge of getting sick so I have no desire to tempt fate right when it is crunch time at uni. Wow that was a huge sentence. All my brain power is going into trying not to write sentences like that in my current essays, good thing you guys are not marking me for this ๐
So, I stuck with THIS yoga session:
and some Jillian Michaels yoga meltdown and that satisfied my need for some sweaty workout burn. As soon as this rain stops I am super excited for a hill run though- it is weird but ever since I sprained my ankle I really enjoy hills because I feel like my running form is awesome when I run uphill. Perfect opportunity for hill training, better strike while the iron is hot before I am back to being a normal human being and feeling like hills = a slow death.
I did brave the rain to go to uni and let’s just say it was pretty scary, people’s umbrellas were just popping out all over the place because of the wind.
I was scared I would drown but I survived.
My umbrella held up well luckily and dressing super warm for uni made me feel fine about being out in the rain, it actually wasn’t even that cold. I have noticed that for some weird reason it makes me happy to dress like an animal inย winter, is anyone else afflicted by this random desire? I have way too many hats with ears and faces on them. Another thing I have in common with three year olds.
What to do when you and your bestie both get back from uni miserable and drenched from the rain and grumpy and exhausted?
Bath time. I promise it was not weird, we were both wearing our swimsuits and that makes it pretty much like a spa. However close you are with your bestie, multiply that by at least ten and then you might be where we are , the random crazy stuff we get up to is a good time ๐ She is pretending to be ashamed of our weirdness in the pic but I am sure she is secretly thrilled that I am documenting this for the world to see.
So true for me:
Finished the night with a girly movie date (Bachelorette, hilarious) and popcorn (the note says twinnieย ku because we call each other that as we are the same age… Okay I am eight months older BUT we were the same age when we met which I personally think means we are still the same age, stop calling me Grandma bestie, it is mean).
What is the weather like where you are right now?
Any any chick flick recommendations for us? – Bachelorette was awesome, Isla fisher is hilarious in it (and she is an Aussie FYI).
What weird/random stuff do you get up to with your closest friends? Details please, don’t be shy!! ๐
The weather is so insane!! Bring back my summer ๐ฅ
Oh mannn…the spa was really good.. We should do it again..or should we bring to the next level maybe? LOL..
Thanks for the card btw.. super sweet of you grandma! Xxxxx

Love Tim Senesi, as you probably know! I also ran 2 days in a row in the rain, not my favorite at all but at least it’s not freezing ๐

He is lovely right? You are such a machine! Definitely better than no run at all though! I was proud of myself for running on the treadmill today, there was actually a cyclone in Sydney so I wasn’t about to get out in that and it felt pretty good to run on the treadmill surprisingly! I can do it ๐

My running form is better when I run up hills also, probably because my legs feel like they are doing a slow death… haha
and I have to run in the rain..if I didn’t, than I wouldn’t be able to run for half the year. lol
I love chick flicks.! the last one I watched was.. Pretty Women. a classic.! I love it.

Haha totally. That is such a good point haha I am so spoilt from living in such a mild temperature-d country! Do you have special rain running gear? I haven’t seen Pretty Women in forever, I need to watch it again! ๐

Not special rain gear. But I like to prepare for all kinds of weather. A lot of times it won’t be raining when I start, but end up pouring by the time I’m done. Lol
