Meet the parents! Yes, they are adorable. Seriously, they are the nicest most amazing supportive people ever and I am soo excited to have them in ma hood this week.
We started off on an awesome note with some presents at their hotel. No it is not my birthday or anything, my parents are just super thoughtful and in tune with my needs.
Then coffee (ALWAYS our first stop) and lunch at the cutest French cafe.
I had the most phenomenal yoghurt/muesli/berry concoction:
And this was the bathroom! I am sure it is probably weird of me to take photos in a bathroom but it was so nicely put together, you are welcome for the sharing 🙂
We saw this sign and obviously the parentals had to take a pic of their darling with it. Their other immediate comment was that it would be perfect if there was an ‘s’ added to it and my sis was here. Next time!!
We spent most of the day trawling the streets of Sydney and did a lovely walk around the waterfront. We are going out to dinner with Bestie tonight and I just had time for a little energizing yoga sesh before we all meet up again:
So I have kindof been burning the candle at both ends for the past week, student life is fun like that 🙂 It feel AMAZING to be all finished now but I am also a tiny bit tired after my night of five hours sleep the day before yesterday and so I needed some yoga poses that would direct oxygen directly to my brain and keep me nice and alert.
Some other things I like to do to increase my energy when I haven’t had quite enough sleep:
-Drink me some coffee 🙂
-A quick 20 minute ish run with sprinting intervals.
-Eat some fruit. I feel like the sugar in fruit gives me a nice little boost but it doesn’t give me a crash like something less healthy might.
-Make sure to drink heaps of water. I always feel extra icky if I am not properly hydrated and if I am already tired it really makes a difference to take care of this.
-Power nap. A power nap of even 15 minutes can make such a difference.
-Meditation. Doing a short meditation, especially in an inversion like shoulderstand, can be so centering and refreshing.
-A cool shower. Nothing wakes me up like a shower! Sometimes in the morning I wake up feeling really tired, so I take a short shower, then drink a coffee and then go running. It is kinda weird to shower before running but it really refreshes me.
-Listen to some music that pumps me up. We all have those songs that motivate us to power along, I love to use music to my advantage like that. This is one of my faves:
What do you do when you need a little energy boost to get on with all the awesomeness in your life?
What is a song that energizes you?
How many hours sleep do you usually get? I am an 8 hours a night girl, 9 when I can wrangle it 🙂 Yay for not having too many responsibilities other than study and work at this time in my life!
