The one with rain, rainbows, and a Friday Favourites Reversal

Rain = not always my favourite because it makes my hair look like this

imageBUT it also brings rainbows like this that make me happy

Walking in the pouring rain to uni = not my favourite BUT I love my class and that means it is worth it, brief dynamic psychotherapy is super interesting FYI šŸ™‚

Thinking that my class was at 9am when really it’s at midday, getting to uni at early o’clock = not my favourite BUT it gives me extra study time before class which I hadn’t expected to be able to do.

Running out of food at home (man I am disorganised these days) = not my favourite BUT it means I am forced to hang out at the restaurant where I work and eat delicious food with bestie for lunch…. Pretty happy about this really šŸ™‚

Being wet from the rain at uni = not my favourite BUT I had managed to plan ahead and brought spare shoes, socks, and a hot water bottle…. Next step will be bringing my slippers to uni. And my pillow…

Two huge essays due on Sunday = not my favourite BUT it is two essays closer to finishing my masters šŸ™‚

A hole in the crotch of my favourite jeans (and who knows how long I have been walking around with it like that…) = not my favourite BUT it means I get to practice not being attached, which is something I am constantly trying to work on. I don’t think anyone needs to see a pic of this…

Not having time to run = not my favourite BUT it is my choice cos there is no way I am waking up at an ungodly hour after getting to bed at 2am (that coffee at 5pm was not a good idea…) AND it makes me appreciate how much I love running and crave a good beastie run sooo bad, which I will be pounding out ASAP tomorrow. I am wearing my Garmin to remind me about it while I am craving it today… I have running addiction issues šŸ˜‰

Coming home to a leaking ceiling…. NOT my favourite at all…. BUT I would rather have it happen now and get it fixed now than for it to happen on the day Curtis arrives or something… Oh hi honey, welcome to our home, yes it is multifunctional as a swimming pool, fun right?

I really hope this didn’t come across as complainy in any way! I was going more for the “life doesn’t always go perfectly but it’s still awesome” perspective šŸ™‚ these were just some tiny things in my day which weren’t ideal but when I thought about it I realised how insignificant they all were and that they all actually had a major upside! Lots of rainbows amongst the rain. Wow I am deep šŸ˜‰

What were some of your Friday things that weren’t your favourite but that worked out great anyway?

  1. You have such a great, “glass half-full instead of half-empty” perspective! I love how you turned all of the negative things in your day into positives.

Not my favorite- forgetting to turn in my key when I moved out of my apartment (which is a big charge) but them letting me drive back and turn it later anyway!

  2. It’s all about seeing things in a different way.
Oh, and I can totally relate to “rain hair”. it rains most of the time here in Manchester, so I have just given up with my hair.
