The one with Friday Favourites

It has been forever since my last Friday favourites post, what is up with that?

Oh yeah- so many favourites that every day is just busting with them. Life is awesome 😍

But to get back to it, a few from this week:

-Curtis being here in Australia with me!!!

New peeps- he moved here after we did seven months of long distance while he was in Canada after we met there last year. We have been exploring Sydney a little and figuring out the jet lag (Canada is 19 hours behind Australia… It’s been fun. There may have been an instance where we had a soup party at 4am and another instance in which Curtis learnt never to play metal music at 6 in the morning). Also, coming home to flowers and a nice hot meal is DEFINITELY a favourite.

-Open mic nights in Sydney with friends- so much fun.

-Bondi beach! Who hasn’t heard of Bondi? It is the shizzle. Kinda cold when Curtis and I visited hence the grandma coat but stillΒ awesome.

Summer?!Β Spring is here! I know when I am drowning in my own sweat in a month or two I am going to regret this but I’m enjoying balmy evening walks with Curtis and picnics in the sun.

-Which brings me to my next point- Roll ups! Major blast from the past, were these the most coveted food for swapsies back in the day or is that just me? Randomly bought some for our picnic and it rocked my world.

-Interval running to Circus- hits the sweatilicious running spot. I love doing my intervals during the chorus and then recovering during the rest. Today I playedΒ the song three times doing that and then did a nice gentle cool down for a quick and nicely balanced workout.

Oh and this made me laugh. Nailing it, Cookie Monster.

How is your Friday going? Anything exciting planned for the weekend?

Do you prefer boiling hot weather or freezing cold? I really like winter but I am kinda excited for summer right now, looking forward to lots of beach time and no study after I finish the uni year!

  1. I’m so happy for you that you’ve been enjoying your time with Curtis! I can only imagine how intense his jet lag must be…I had a 12 hour time difference this summer which was killer for the first week and a half (of a two week trip, hah).

Your ice cream cone looks AMAZING and just sparked a major craving for some Ben & Jerry’s! And on a totally random sidenote, have you ever seen the American show, the Office? I just realized you remind me of Pam Beasly from the show just a little bit!

    • Thanks so much girl! Twelve hours is a major ouchie too because it’s basically the exact opposite of what you’re used to doing! Curtis was definitely a bit out of it haha πŸ˜‰
That was actually my first time eating Ben and jerrys! We don’t have it in nz! It was amaaaaazing, the sprinkles made my life! I’ve never watched the office but the boys at my work were all saying I looked like Pam one time too- I promptly googled her and took it as a sweet compliment haha 😍

  2. I much prefer boiling hot weather. I hate the winter and every time it comes around I contemplate moving somewhere warmer!

I love that you are wearing a coat and your bf is in shorts! I’m sure he didn’t attract any funny looks from the locals…

  5. I’d never thought of doing intervals to a song before, but that sounds like a great idea! I also love Circus. Banging tune.

Cute pic of you and the man. That is some serious jet lag time. Ugh. Hope he is adjusted soon. I have Circus on my playlist too. Good tune. The weekend went by too fast – lots of kids activities and then a neighborhood block party. Went apple picking today, which means Fall is right around the corner!

Hey! Funny note…My husband and son’s first name is Curtis!!! However, they both go by their middle names…. not sure why though, just tradition in my husband’s family.
I love it cold!!! However, I must say, our cold here in South Georgia really isn’t cold like up in Minnesota! Here in the south, we have thin blood….LOL… It hits less that 55 and we are FREEZING!!!!!!! Heck, if it is 65 we think it is cold and the jackets are busted out of the closets!!! LOL!

    • That is funny! It’s an awesome name right? 😍 that sounds a LOT like Australia and NZ! We’re like ooooh it’s freezing and Curtis is like what a beautiful summer day! Cannot wrap my head around it haha. Have a great day Polly!

Such amazing memories! Jet lag is awful – especially after a 12 hour flight :(. My body just can’t handle it so either I am wide awake at the wrong times or snoozing away at the wrong times! That icecream cone looks delicious – I mean seriously can I steal it…or borrow….you know what I just want to steal it! My little town doesn’t have cute cafe or ice cream shops sadly so seeing things like this makes me so happy!
