The one with Friday Favourites and a Halloweeny guessing game

Started off my Friday with some studying in bed with a giant cup of coffee and a head cold I am hoping to shake off ASAP. As you guys know this is the time of the uni term I tend to burn myself out so I am pretty much right on schedule 😉

Just a few faves from my Friday:

My fave way to study when I am not feeling awesome and have to force myself to do it…. light a candle, put on some peaceful meditation music, have a nice hot cup of tea… and study wrapped up in bed. Lollies may or may not be involved, depending on the time of day (8am lollies are a thing of my teenage years which I don’t think I will ever go back to). I can almost, almost convince myself that I am relaxing that way, aside from my brain trying to process meta-analytic findings and literature reviews 😳

My super duper fancy schmancy broccoli salad invention: steamed broccoli with mixed olive deliciousness thrown in.

The most adorable bakery cafe that just opened two steps outside my front door. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, they make is adorable.

My new Keep Cup. Curtis may or may not have lost my last one, but he more than made up for it by immediately getting me two more. Win for me!

Getting back into doing yoga off Youtube. I went through a phase of doing my own practice to my own music which is always nice but now I am back in the zone for doing it with teachers on Youtube aswell. Either way it is a good time.

My halloween costume. I am pretty darn excited about this bad boy. One hint: I will be going as something I feel very passionately about…. and it is yellow 😉

(Pic from a few Halloweens ago… Little Red Riding Hood for the win. My sis helped me make the cape… and by helped me make it I mean she pretty much made it by herself, she is super good at sewing).

Love olives or hate them? Cute story: On one of my and Curtis’ first dates I jokingly told him I couldn’t date him if he didn’t like olives (I LOVE them). He didn’t say too much at the time and months later I learnt from his mum that he has never really liked them… Good thing I can make exceptions honey 😉

Ever done yoga from Youtube? Any teacher recommendations?

Plans for Halloween? Any guesses as to what I will be going as?

  1. I’m guessing that you dressed up as a banana – because it’s yellow? Am I right? I took my son trick or treating for the first time. He had so much fun and ate way too much candy!

    • Sooooo close, the next best thing (and oddly related) a MINION! 🙂 Best night ever! 🙂 I have never been trick or treating because we don’t do it in NZ (I know, what is that right?) but it sounds like SOOO much fun! 🙂

  2. I’m guessing you dressed up as a minion?!?!?!?! Hope you had an awesome Halloween, friend!

And I’m actually not a huge fan of olives, at least not plain. I can deal if they’re in a dip or on a veggie or Greek pizza 🙂 Good thing you make exceptions for friends! 🙂
