The one with a date with myself (and Kayla Itsines)

As you guys know I am a big fan of taking myself on a date when I get the chance.

This date was pretty special though guys. Like I wined and dined myself. And by wined I mean drank a delicious smoothie and dined I mean I two timed myself with bestie for Japanese food and froyo.



Where she just casually gave me a giant fondant covered cake, you know, cos that’s just how she rolls (HA get it?) ๐Ÿ˜


I also did a BBG workout

Had a delicious yoga practice


Bought myself some MINION tic tacs (!!!)


And hung out at the harbour just chilling and listening to music.


I also (no big deal) hung out with Kayla Itsines. Ya, we’re besties now. She told me I smelt nice. That’s the dream right?!


(Which somehow made up for taking a super awkward photo with her… You don’t want to see the unfiltered version, my excited pinkness is out of control).

She was doing a public talk at the Apple Store in Sydney and because I am her biggest stalker right now I was awkwardly got there half an hour early for one of the best seats in the house.

She talked about her new app, the BBG workouts, what she eats to treat herself (food her family has cooked for her, girlfriend is such a sweetheart), and her fitness lifestyle. She said a few times she was nervous and she just came across as super humble and sweet and passionate about what she does.

I cannot say enough how much I am LOVING the Kayla Itsines BBG workouts guys. They are 28 minutes, three times a week, and then low intensity cardio on the other three days with a rest day on Sunday. This is so perfect for me because I am spending a decent amount of time doing strength training and still can fit in my running and yoga ๐Ÿ˜ And while the 28 minutes is easy to fit into my schedule, it is HARD. Like dripping in sweat major scary DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) hard.

And now having ranted about BBG I am off to have a non-Sunday rest day due to working an 8 hr day at my internship plus a 4ish hour waitressing shift which I have no doubt will be hectic enough to make up for the missed cardio workout. I am thinking yoga will be necessary later to wind down.

Do you do nothing on your rest day or some gentle yoga/walking/something?

Fave type of cake? The cake bestie gave meย is Christmas cake and I LOVE the fondant icing!

  1. Wow I’m so jealous! Would love to meet her! Haven’t tried out the BBG guides yet just cos I’m not entirely sure I want to part with the cash just yet. Buuuut I think I could use some commitment in my life!

    Also, that’s my absolute favourite Yoga with Adriene video ๐Ÿ™‚


    • It was super exciting but I was pretty much paralyzed with shyness haha apparently I get starstruck ๐Ÿ™‚ I was a little worried about that too BUT it is TOTALLY worth it!!!! I am so so glad I did! It is a commitment but not anything unrealistic or inflexible so I really like it. And it’s sooo effective in targeting all the right muscles- I thought it looked easy when I first read the guides and OMG was I ever wrong! I could barely walk after my first sesh! That’s so funny that that’s your fave video, what a coincidence! Adriene is amazing ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a great day Pippa!

  2. What a cool meet-up to go to! And those minion tic-tacs are so YOU.

    I did a great 5 mile run this morning before reporting for RA duties for the morning ๐Ÿ™‚ I usually do some walking on my rest days due to living on a college campus and not having a car haha. I also LOVE taking walks with other people, so that’s one of my favorite things to do on my rest days, too.


    • Haha I know right?? I was so excited to find them ๐Ÿ™‚ Yay great job for getting your run on before going to your duties! That is the best feeling ever right? Walks with other people are the best!! I don’t have a car too and it def means walking is mandatory most days, which I love! Have a great weekend Liv! :*

    I may be super envious that you got to meet Kayla! Love the BBG workouts…I’m finishing up week 8 today. About to get up and go do Leg day lol. Sounds like you had a pretty awesome day!


    • It was amazing! I just about popped a blood vessel in excitement haha. I was soo shy though! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Wow week 8! That’s awesome!! I am just about to finish up week 4, i am in love! Good luck with leg day, I usually can’t walk for three days after that haha.

  4. How cool that you got to meet Kayla! And good that you smelled nice ๐Ÿ™‚ Sydney looks beautiful right now. We are still waiting for our white Christmas here in Ohio. No snow in the forecast. Bummer!!

    I’ve been running lots lately! But on my rest days, I’m totally content doing nothing. I’ll take a walk if it’s a nice day out, but if it’s rainy or cold, I like to sit around and be lazy!


    • You are a running machine, I am always so impressed! ๐Ÿ™‚ I definitely think it’s good to take a proper rest day at least once a week, with minimal activity and maximal laziness! ๐Ÿ™‚
