The one with my current fave HIIT workout

So Sydney has gotten HOT. Like, I am talking 42 degrees C hot (107.6 degrees Fahrenheit). Ouchie.

Having said that I am enjoying being outside in the fresh air lately, especially after being cooped up writing essays inside for an obscene amount of time.

So my latest fitness/running combo obsession? HIIT at the park guys. That’s where it’s at.

One minute of each, twenty second break in between, repeat the circuit four times.

– push-ups (why do push ups destroy me so?!)
– tricep dips
– tuck jumps
– sprints

Two important things to note- it’s better to do early in the morning if you live in Australia unless you want to be roasted while you do it. I personally get sweaty enough doing HIIT as it is 😉

Secondly, it’s good to embrace looking a bit stupid prancing around doing the tuck jumps. Just roll with it.

What do you do for your HIIT?

Do you love the heat or hate it? I hated it when I first moved to Australia but I am working hard to enjoy it more… I just can’t believe how HOT it is!!! 😮

I’d swap hot for the cold and drizzle we have here today in UK! I’ve started wearing gloves!

  2. I’m in Perth and always do my workouts in the morning – especially during summer! If I tried to do them in the afternoon I would be a sweaty puddle haha

    • Ahh I can only imagine how HOT Perth is, I can barely handle Sydney! Go you for nailing your workouts nice and early girl! I actually have a post coming up about how I have finally become a morning worker outer- mainly for the heat reason! 🙂 Have a great day Erin, hope you had a great workout this morning 🙂

Wow, that is really hot!!! We’re having a really “warm” winter here… about 5C or so 🙂

  4. WOW, I can’t believe how hot it is there! Is it humid or dry heat? The humidity kills me when I workout outside in the heat (although it usually “only” gets up to about 100 degrees here during the summers!)

    • It is pretty humid, often around 50% humidity or more! Wow that is still pretty hot over there! Luckily Australia has this weird tropical cycle happening where it gets super hot, humid, and then there is a storm to break it before we start the process again. Good times 😉 Although it is consistently pretty hot here in the summer, there aren’t usually more than 3 days of REALLY hot weather in a row, thank goodness! Have a beautiful day Liv!
