Let me repeat. HAWAII. You know, that dream destination/tropical/honeymoon/once-in-a-lifetime type place.
Sooooo I am pretty much out of my mind excited to be here.
There is a TONNE to explore during our week here but I’m also super excited to get in some beach runs and outdoor workouts plus pool/spa time every day (big #holiday goals going on here 😉 ).
I LOVE to workout on holiday but I also hate to feel like it is impeding in any way on my time with others… So I usually wake up early and fit it in before everyone else wakes up. It sets the tone for my day and helps me relax and also make healthy food choices throughout the day.
My favourite holiday workouts (I bet you can guess what they are 😉 ).
Running= such a great way to see a place and also get a feel for it. I always feel much more settled and like I know a place better when I been for at least one good run it it. It also is so easy to just throw running shoes and clothes in my suitcase and be ready to go. HIIT running is also a good time efficient holiday workout.
Yoga= the easiest possible exercise for me to do anytime any place. I only need my body length of space to do it in, I can do it inside or outside depending on how safe the place im staying is, and I don’t need any equipment. Of course a yoga mat is awesome and good for regular practice but I actually did yoga for years with no yoga mat (student life 😉 ) and so it’s not an absolute necessity for me personally. Plus yoga is sooo relaxing so it is the perfect for me to wind down and treat my body real nice on holiday.
BBG= my current obsession and the most satisfying burn ever in just 28 minutes. Knowing I can get a major sweatylicious workout in in such a short amount of time is eriously the best feeling ever. You don’t need any equipment do do BBG (all the exercises can be modified) and the feeling of satisfaction to smash a challenging BBG workout is incredibly motivating especially when I’m on holiday and tempted to give working out a miss in favour of sunbathing and general sloth behaviour.
Which I guess I better go get out of my system now 🙂
So my questions for you guys: what is your fave holiday workout, and how do you fit your workout in on holiday? – feeling super excited to wake up early for my BBG leg day and possibly a run after if I’m feeling crazy!
