The one with some final Hawaii happenings and holiday goals

Oh yeah, alliteration. Love it.
So other than because it’s Hawaii and who doesn’t want to go there?! the main reason we went on a spur of the moment holiday was to visit Curtis’ parents. For those of you who missed the most epic reunion ever, Curtis moved to Sydney from Canada to be with me while I study here (…it is very confusing when people ask where we are from and we explain how I am a New Zealander and he is Canadian and we live in Sydney and met on a tiny island off the BC coast). Because we now both live away from our families  we miss them a tonne though and so this was the perfect opportunity for a catch up.

And the last few days (okay actually every day) in Maui, Hawaii were TOP NOTCH.

We checked out several glorious beaches

Enjoyed a billion beautiful sunsets

Perused a few markets (where I got some coconut candy, SO GOOD)

Casually ascended a volcano

(Altitude sickness is for realsies FYI)

And drove the Road to Hana, an incredible road trip with tonnes of beautiful scenery along the way.

(A Hawaiian church made of volcanic rock that survived a tsunami!?!)

We finished the trip with a beautiful dinner at the most perfect beachside view.

I also used the complex gym a lot, had a nap every day (which is when you know you’re winning at life), restocked my supply of mini-wheats with a giant Costco sized box (neither Costco nor mini-wheats exist in Sydney) that will hopefully last me a week and lazed around the condo a lot. So basically I nailed all my holiday goals.

Now we are back in Australia and I really LOLed hard at this photo which basically sums up our life here in Sydney (and our life in NZ). Hawaii was super refreshing (way cooler temperatures than OZ) but now it is time to bring on the burn 😉

Where was your last holiday/last place you travelled?

Have you ever had altitude sickness? – My chest felt sooo tight and I was so short of breath after just a few steps! Cannot understand how people climb Mt Everest?!?

Do you prefer surf beaches or calm beaches? – I grew up boogie boarding on amazing surf beaches so I prefer those.

Tried any crazy different candy overseas? – The coconut candy was awesome but definitely quite different to my usual gummy lollies 🙂

Ha ha – Hubby and I laughed to much over the summer in Oz pic! Hawaii looks so fab — fingers crossed we’ll be there for Xmas! Welcome home xx

  2. Never had altitude sickness, but we get really out of breath when we going skiing in the Rocky Mountains due to their high altitude. Winded carrying our skis to the condo. Whew!! Your trip looks beautiful!

  3. Ahh your love story (even if locationally confusing!) is so sweet! So happy that you and Curtis can be together while you finish up your studies in Sydney. And that looks like such an epic vacation. I can only imagine how incredible the weather feels in Hawaii during our winter!

    • Aww thanks Liv! Totally locationally confusing right? 🙂 Funnily enough I am SUPER ready for winter because summer has laster forever here! Maui was such a nice cool relief to us! lol! Hope you’re having an awesome day girl gonna go stalk your blog now haha
