The one with the return to the mothership

What do you do when you wake up to a giant gnarly kookaburra sitting on the fence outside eating a rat and literally wacking the rat against the fence with its beak to kill it??

(Photo is post-rat because no one wants to see that).

You book a one way ticket to NEW ZEALAND that’s what you do.

That’s right guys! Back to the mothership.

I am SO EXCITED about this. The Australian adventure has been amazing and I have had the time of my life here (let’s not talk about my leaving Bestie because I will cry) but now that I am finishing my masters it is time for a change.

I can’t wait to spend a tonne of time back in the parental nest, attached at the hip to my amazing sis, and to start working a normal full time job and doing some adulting 😉 I am also enjoying some denial and really think that I can still convince Bestie to come with me and work as my own private pastry chef.

Now just to finish these final 8000 words worth of assignments …

Have you ever lived overseas? For how long? – This is the longest I have lived away from my own country, almost two years (not including visits back in the middle).

What was your first real full-time job? – I worked full time at some random jobs during uni holidays etc but my first real full time job was as a mental health support worker/counsellor.

What horrifies you more, rats, mice, spiders, bugs, or other? – SPIDERS but the rat getting eaten by the kookaburra was a little tough to stomach at 6.45am.

  2. Whew! I was going to ask about Curtis… but luckily he commented 🙂 What fun, moving on to the next adventure! Before I graduated from college I had a paid internship in my field, and then I started working in the “corporate” world immediately after college graduation. I was lucky to find work in my field right away. The internship really gave me an advantage during my job hunt. I had to move about 3 hours away from my family though, so that part was a bit hard. First time out on my own! Good for you on the progress you are making!!
